GEMILANG CLUB
Introduction
GEMILANG Club is an organization under surveillance CENSERVE in IIUM. It is focusing on the mentoring concept towards elementary students. The students will be chosen by the GEMILANG Club in which they come from the middle class. This club also will choose standard four and five students as mentees. The mentees will be guided by mentors within one year. Besides that, this club will observe the development of mentees in terms of understanding the concept of subjects and grades in their examination. Not just that, GEMILANG also focusing on developing a better youth generation by instilling and enhancing their personality and akhlak to be in line with the concept of “Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin” brought by Islam (Al-Quran 21:117).

GEMILANG MUAKHA

IMPACTFUL PROGRAM
Smart English and Gempur Math are programmes under GEMILANG Muakha. These programmes act as an effective and efficient learning medium specifically tailored for Standard 4 and 5 students. Smart English and Gempur Math focus on instilling mentees’ interest in sports activities while exposing basics English and Mathematic knowledge to the mentees. It emphasizes a healthy lifestyle and physical strength, as well as teamwork among mentors and mentees. These programmes and the modules created are focusing on the importance of these subjects and its usage in the mentees’ daily life and academic matters. In discovering learning, the mentors will provide a video presentation to assist the mentees in these subjects learning thus making the intensive learning more fun.
Smart English and Gempur Math are categorized among the impactful programmes because most of the objectives were achieved. The programmes created more understanding through all mentees in subjects provided. Furthermore, the parents gave positive feedback for all the initiatives that GEMILANG did. The objectives to break the ice and strengthening the bond between the mentees and mentors are achieved. Besides that, the activities and the reactions really showed that they really had fun in learning these two subjects with a variety of games.
